Ava Matthews and Bec Jefferd started Ultra Violette in Melbourne after noticing how often people skipped sunscreen because it felt sticky, chalky or awkward under makeup. They wanted to make a range people would be happy to use every morning.

They call their approach 'SKINSCREEN': sun protection designed to feel like part of a skincare routine. The founders worked with sunscreen laboratories and put the range through the testing required for relevant products in Australia.

The range includes Australian-made formulas with ingredients such as Kakadu plum, dragosine, pentavitin, and vitamin E. From weightless hydrating serums and illuminating primers to 100 per cent mineral zinc formulas for reactive skin and nourishing SPF lip balms, the range gives you a few different textures to choose from for everyday wear. The business was founded by two women and links to its B Corp certification. Texture, finish and water resistance vary across the range.
