About Mokosh
Founded in 2006 in Fremantle, Western Australia by former veterinarian and medical pathologist Dr Marion O'Leary, Mokosh makes waterless skincare in Fremantle. By removing added water from its creams, serums, and cleansing powders altogether, Mokosh makes concentrated formulas without adding synthetic preservatives, emulsifiers or stabilisers.
The maker links to NASAA certification for its products. The team compounds them by hand in small batches in Fremantle using unrefined fair-trade shea butter, cold-pressed baobab, marula, macadamia, and prickly pear seed oils alongside Australian sandalwood and immortelle.
Without added water, the creams have a different texture from a typical lotion. Start with a small amount and check the directions on the jar to see how the maker suggests using it. All Mokosh products are strictly palm-oil-free, cruelty-free, packaged in recyclable amber glass, and accompanied by transparent explanations of every single botanical ingredient used. The range also includes sesame and calendula products; check with a health professional if you have a skin condition or allergies before trying something new.
