About Jurlique
Biochemist Dr Jürgen Klein and botanist Ulrike Klein founded Jurlique in the Adelaide Hills in 1985. The brand still grows botanicals on its farm there. The founders chose Mylor in the Adelaide Hills for a certified biodynamic farm where roses, calendula, lavender, marshmallow root, chamomile, and echinacea are still grown and harvested today.
Using a proprietary Bio-Intrinsic extraction process, combining distillation, percolation, and calcination, Jurlique concentrates whole-plant actives before compounding its Rosewater Balancing Mist, Herbal Recovery serums, and Calendula Redness Rescue creams at its South Australian facility.
The farm operates on regenerative composting principles, solar power, and zero-waste water recycling, and the business links to its B Corp certification and information about packaging choices. Visitors can ask about guided tours of the Mylor farm during the spring rose harvest. It is a chance to see where some of the plants used in the skincare are grown. Tour times and seasonal access may vary, so check with Jurlique before travelling.
